The case for objects that do not ping a server
Wearable tech spent a decade adding batteries. The more interesting objects may be the ones that refuse them.
Most of what is called wearable tech is a small computer with a strap. That is a legitimate product. It is also a product with a charging cable, a privacy policy, and a replacement cycle.
Elytra is jewelry and knit with an optical surface. The only ‘data’ it holds is the way it looks in a room. That is a design choice, not a moral one. Some people want a ring that scores their sleep. Some people want a cuff that looks like water on metal and never asks for an update.
We price and produce for the second person. If that is not you, there are excellent computers for the wrist. We are not trying to be one.
